Course Descriptions (schedule)

All of the following courses are included in our Full-Time Six-Week Intensive program, which is offered four times a year. The total cost of tuition is $3,250 (and that amount is discounted further when students pay in full by our early registration deadlines). Meisner Approach (three classes per week)

Today's marketplace, with its emphasis on film and television, demands that you be completely real in your work. This is why Meisner training has become the most popular approach to acting around. We'll teach you how specificity makes your work more life-like and how being intuitive and responsive makes your acting irresistible to watch. Get liberated from watching yourself or overanalyzing your performance so that your work will be compelling.

Establishing and Sustaining a Professional Career (one class per week)

If you want to work in this business, you have to be tenacious, proactive and inspired. Plenty of actors feel well-trained but have no idea of what it will take to differentiate themselves in the marketplace. You're talented? Great. But your strategies may be worn-out! We'll help you obliterate old patterns of thinking and behaving that are impeding your career growth.

Monologue Coaching (one class and private coaching per week, individual price $475)

For most of us, the monologue is the dreaded necessity of an actor's life. We want to change that! We'll help you get monologues ready that will help you book work and that you will love to perform.

Audition Technique (two classes per week, individual price $475)

We want you to walk into that meeting with a casting director or agent with the knowledge you need. Too many actors skip this critical part of their training believing that all they need is common sense. Not so. Step-by-step, we'll teach you what pitfalls to avoid and help you learn how to better introduce yourself, select more versatile and flattering clothing, what behavioral norms you need to follow, how to work with cold sides, how to improve your headshot and resume, how to work with a reader – and much more. You'll learn how multi-faceted the audition experience is and begin showing up as a confident professional.

Vocal Production (three classes per week, individual price $675)

Why do you need it? Because it has everything to do with being relaxed, working from an honest place within yourself and having a voice that makes us want to watch you. Audiences are subconsciously drawn to those actors that have a strong vocal presence. We want you to start getting the attention you want and for the right reasons.

Meisner Approach to Text (two classes per week, individual price $675)

Working actors are great at picking up a cold piece of writing (screen plays, commercial copy, two-act plays, etc.) and being able to perform it with clarity, poise, confidence and effectiveness right on the spot. The better you are at dealing with text, the better you will be in every performance and audition. You'll develop the ease and confidence that comes with being a Meisner-trained actor.
