Selling in America, Ward Theatre Company

We emphasize a bold and no-nonsense approach to artistic growth which requires our students to be committed, active participants in their own development. Making the choice to begin a serious course of acting training is a courageous decision. Becoming a great actor means welcoming the challenges that are inherent in the artistic process.

We will support you through those challenges, but we’re not going to hold your hand.  Our first request is that you leave your sensitivity at the door.  We need to be able to give you the feedback you need to grow. If you cannot handle criticism or do not function well in a disciplined environment, it’s unlikely that you will succeed in our program.

On the other hand, if you can listen, stay curious, be patient and allow the instructor’s notes to sink in before you reject them; if you can keep a sense of humor and allow yourself to make mistakes; if you can show up on time, do your work, meet rehearsal obligations and keep your eye on your ultimate goal, this will be the most exciting acting training of your life.
